NearMetal

A job index for systems software engineers — kernels, compilers, databases, storage, networking, virtualization, embedded, and performance work — built from company career pages and published with the provenance of every classification visible on the row.

What had to change

Systems roles are buried under general software listings, and the boards that classify them hide how the classification was made. NearMetal takes roles from official career sources, files them into eight sub-domains with a rule-based classifier, routes uncertain fields to review, and labels each row with whether it was classified by rule set, reviewed by an agent, or confirmed by a person.
